The name fennel is derived from a Latin word foenum<\/em>which means hay. In Estonian, this plant is also called cumin.<\/p>\n

Fennel has been a popular medicinal plant used by the ancient Chinese, Egyptians and Romans, who believed that fennel helps to ensure a longer lifespan and increases a person's courage and strength. It was also believed to keep away evil spirits.<\/p>\n

Fennel is said to have been used to strengthen vision, treat stomach bites, and relieve colic. In India, in purpose to aid digestion after a meal there is often offered ordinary roasted or mint-coated fennel seeds, so-called saunf<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It also helps with weight loss, as it is said to cause a feeling of fullness. It is believed that its diuretic effect helps break down cellulite and removes excess water from the body. Fennel oil strengthens the spleen and liver.<\/p>\n

It has a cleansing and toning effect on the skin and helps with bruising. Also used to care for oily and aging skin. Helps maintain the youthful glow of the skin.<\/p>\n

Fennel essential oil must not be used in large quantities. Consult a physician during pregnancy and lactation, as well as with breast cancer and epilepsy.
