Origin and background<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Cypress essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the twigs and needles of the evergreen conifer, cypress, in the Mediterranean countries. By the way, it is Van Gogh's paintings that have made this plant famous.<\/p>\n

According to Greek mythology, cypress is considered a mourning tree and is therefore often grown in cemeteries. Cypress is also associated with the God of the Underworld, Hades. The Phoenicians and Cretans used cypress wood to build ships and houses. The Egyptians made sarcophagi out of it. The Greeks again carved the images of their gods. According to one legend, the cross of Jesus Christ was also made of this wood - hence another reason why the cypress is associated with death. However, it is worth remembering that the botanical name of cypress comes from a Latin word sempervirens<\/em>, which in translation means eternally alive, or, as it is a conifer tree, evergreen.<\/p>\n

Cypress essential oil soothes strong emotions, such as anger, and is therefore useful when there are major changes in life. Cypress oil helps increase self-confidence, willpower, perseverance, and also motivation.<\/p>\n

By using this oil in an oil burner or aroma diffuser, it not only helps soothe the senses, but also relieves respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, and pertussis.<\/p>\n

Healing properties<\/h5>\n

Cypress essential oil narrows blood vessels, helping with varicose veins and hemorrhoids. It should be a great way to relieve all fluid-related conditions, such as bloody periods, excessive sweating, cough, bronchitis, bleeding, and fluid retention. This oil relieves muscle cramps, helps regulate the menstrual cycle, and relieves arthritis and rheumatic pains.<\/p>\n

It can be used in a diluted form in a cold compress to stop nosebleeds.<\/p>\n

Also suitable for oily skin care.<\/p>\n
