Neroli
Origin and background
Neroli essential oil is made from the fragrant flowers of the bitter orange tree by steam distillation. Three different essential oils are actually made from different parts of this tree: orange essential oil is obtained from the peel of orange, petitgrain oil from the leaves of the same tree, and neroli oil from the blossoms.
The aroma of neroli oil is similar to bergamot, but much sweeter. The blossoms are harvested by hand before sunrise, when their aroma is not yet scattered and still intense and they can only be picked during the blossoming of the tree. It is one of the most popular essential oils in terms of its wonderful aroma and therapeutic properties. Considering the way it is collected and prepared, it is also one of the most valuable ones.
Neroli oil has many wonderful properties and of course it has a heavenly aroma. At the same time, this luxurious oil is also very valuable, as it requires 100 kg of bitter orange tree's aromatic blossoms to get only 100 g of essential oil.
It is believed that the ancient Romans used neroli oil. In 1680, Princess Anna Maria Orsin of Nerola used the essence of the bitter orange tree to scent her gloves and bath, thus creating a new modern aroma of that era. Since then, this essential oil has been called after her by the name neroli. It is written in folklore that these bitter orange blossoms were used to decorate bridal beds to help newlyweds relax in bed.
Bitter orange trees are used as rootstocks in sweet orange groves. Its fruits and leaves can be made into foam and used in soaps. Hard, white or light yellow wood is used in wood processing and is made into baseball bats in Cuba.

The blend can be placed, for example, in a roll-on bottle that is convenient to carry along and can be used at any convenient time.
- Can also be added to a neutral unscented cream, lotion, or liquid soap to achieve radiant and healthy skin.
- Can be used in an aroma diffuser both at home or in the office to create a pleasant and cozy atmosphere that relaxes the senses and creates a pleasant aroma around you.
- It can also be added to an oil burner. Don't forget to add water to the oil burner and then drip in the essential oil! Pure essential oil is too strong and has a faint odor.
